Chocolate Shakeology Mug Cake

Ingredients:

1 Scoop Chocolate Shakeology

1/4 tsp baking powder

Dash of sea salt

1 Egg

3 TBSP Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk or Water

Optional:

Natural sweetener, natural peanut butter, cocoa powder, almonds, walnuts, coconut.

**Please note that the micronutrients in Shakeology may be altered by heating it! I would use this recipe as a treat, not as a daily way to consume your Shakeology as you may not receive the full effects of this incredible product. When I have made this recipe I have personally used it in addition to my regular shakeology shake, not in replace of. Here is what the man himself had to say:

“Great question. Ideally of course you should not heat Shakeology or put it in a microwave (a bit insane and a duh to me). One can warm it up just a bit, but not over 120 degrees or it degrades the whole ingredients and enzymes, probiotics etc. Most botanicals and active beneficial compounds are sensitive to heat. Therefore in order to get the full benefit of the superfoods and herbs it is not recommended to heat, cook or microwave Shakeology or any supplement for that matter. If you do choose to heat it then you will still have the macronutrients left (protein, carbs and fats) however it may/most likely severely effect the micronutrients. It won’t harm you if you decide to heat it but again, you are just left with the macronutrients (protein, carbs, fat) and it won’t help you the best way on a cellular level by heating or cooking the product. Also people and/or coaches are free do do whatever they want with consuming Shakeology or anything else. Don’t worry about what others are doing and just focus on altering or making and sharing an informed choice based what you know.

Directions:

  1. Mix Shakeology, baking powder and salt and any optional dry ingredients in a mug.
  2. Add in egg and almond milk or water.
  3. Mix until a pudding consistency.
  4. If choosing to include peanut butter, add a tsp in the center and push it down a little.
  5. Heat in microwave for 2 minutes. (When it’s ready, the edges will pull away from the sides of the mug).
  6. Enjoy!

With no optional add-ins this equals 1.5 Red, if you include any extras account for them accordingly. (Natural peanut butter = tsp, chopped nuts or unsweetened coconut = orange container)
